We are thrilled to announce that we have committed to fully funding the Jackson County Forestry Department’s project to restore a 20-acre site that has been overrun by glossy buckthorn and is struggling with natural regeneration.
This site holds immense ecological and aesthetic value due to its proximity to the Bauer-Brockway Barrens State Natural Area, Lake Wazee Recreation Area, and a newly constructed bike trail. By reintroducing native trees, enhancing biodiversity, and preserving the area’s natural beauty, we have the opportunity to make a lasting impact—not just on the landscape, but on the community as well. This is exactly why we’re so excited to support this project and help create a healthier, more vibrant environment for generations to come!
Fun Fact: Jackson County is home to one of two elk heards currently being monitored in Wisconsin.
